HOW TO PLAY

EVERYONE GETS
A TURN.

You don’t need a playlist ready. Pick one song, choose the part you want to play, and see how your friends vote.

01 / INVITE

Invite your friends.

One person starts a game and shares the link or code. Everyone else opens it on their own phone and enters a name.

02 / PLAY

Play the best part.

Search YouTube or paste a link. Choose where your clip starts—go straight to the chorus if you want. When it’s your turn, share the clip with your friends.

03 / VOTE

Keep it or skip it.

Stoke means keep; Douse means skip. In live games, everyone votes while the song plays and enough skip votes end it early. In anytime games, friends listen and vote when they’re free.

Most points wins.

Each song can earn up to 100 points. Live games reward keep votes and how much of the clip survives. Anytime games score the share of keep votes. The most points wins.

Can’t be online together?

Choose Take turns anytime. Post your first clip without waiting in a lobby, then share the link. Your friend listens, votes, and posts a pick when they’re free. Return through the same link when it’s your turn.

How do you want to play?

A FEW MORE DETAILS

BEFORE
YOU PLAY.

Can I play on my own?

Yes. Play live against computer players who choose songs and vote on your picks. Or choose Take turns anytime, post the first clip, and invite a friend to respond later. You can start before they’re online.

Does everyone need an account or an app?

No. Open the game link, enter a name and play in your browser. You don’t need an email, password or music subscription.

Does everyone need their own phone?

Yes—everyone chooses songs and votes on their own phone. A laptop works too. You’ll all need an internet connection. Live games can use the host’s speaker or separate devices. In anytime games, each person listens on their own device when they return.

Where do the songs come from?

YouTube. Search for a song in the game or paste a video link, then choose the part you want to play. Comedy, movie scenes and other clips work too. Some videos can’t play outside YouTube, and ads may appear.

How long is a game?

For a short live game, choose Quick Fire: one 45-second clip each, plus time to choose songs. In Take turns anytime, there is no deadline between turns. Return through the game link when you’re free; the host ends the game when you’re done.

What counts toward my score?

Each pick is worth up to 100 points. Live scores combine the share of keep votes with how much of the clip plays. Anytime scores use keep votes and can update while friends respond. You can’t vote on your own pick. Reactions and saves don’t add points; tied leaders share the win.

Does one skip vote end the song?

In live games, the host chooses the skip threshold. The standard is 60% of listeners, so one vote can skip a song in a two-player game. In anytime games, Douse records your vote on that pick; it doesn’t stop everyone else’s listening.

Do I have to take a turn?

In live games, choose “Just listen and vote” when you join. You can vote on others’ picks and save songs you like without choosing any yourself. Anytime games are designed around taking turns with your friends.
